Taylor's fifth homer since returning June 28 put the Mets up 4-3, and Marcus Semien added insurance with a three-run shot of his own in the seventh. The back-to-back homers marked a turning point in the game.

For the Mets, it was a much-needed win to snap a six-game skid, while the Dodgers saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Lefty Freddy Peralta, who can also become a free agent after the season, allowed three runs over four innings in what might be his final start for New York. With the Mets in last place at 44-62, they appear poised for a significant selloff before the August 3 trade deadline, with Peralta and other pending free agents likely to be moved.
