Halifax urban trail ditches mud for historic buildings in uk first

Halifax is set to host a unique 10km urban trail race on Easter Monday, taking runners through the town's historic buildings in a first for the UK.

Swap stiles for staircases and moors for market halls

Instead of the muddy trails common to many British running events, the Halifax Urban Trail will see participants racing through the town's iconic venues, including the minster, town hall, and the Piece Hall.

Organiser Andrew Bibby was inspired by a similar event in France and spent 18 months securing agreements with the owners of the participating buildings, all of whom said yes.
