Blues stage stunning 3-goal rally to beat penguins 7-5

In a stunning comeback, the St. Louis Blues rallied from a three-goal deficit to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-5 on Tuesday night.

Blues surge ahead with five consecutive goals

The Penguins raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first period despite resting most of their regular players, including Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. But the Blues surged ahead with five consecutive goals in a span of just over 20 minutes.

Jimmy Snuggerud scored twice and assisted on both of Dylan Holloway's goals in the third period, as the Blues took the lead for good. Holloway's first goal gave St. Louis its first lead 4:11 into the third, and he added an empty-netter to secure the win. Pavel Buchnevich also scored a breakaway goal, his 19th of the season.

Avery Hayes scored twice for the Penguins, who also got goals from Rutger McGroarty, Anthony Mantha, and Elmer Soderblom. But the Blues' Jordan Binnington made 18 saves for the win, while Stuart Skinner stopped 17 of 21 shots before being pulled in the second period.
