According to the Arvada Police Department, Delgado-Cordoba picked up a woman and her boyfriend in a light-colored 2023 Kia K5 sedan from a Denver bar. When they arrived at their Arvada residence, the boyfriend exited the vehicle to unlock the door, leaving the intoxicated woman alone in the backseat.

Delgado-Cordoba allegedly entered the backseat with the victim, and when the boyfriend returned, the driver quickly jumped back behind the wheel and drove away with the still-intoxicated woman inside.

The woman was later dropped off at a business in another city, where employees helped her contact family members. She subsequently sought medical attention and participated in a forensic exam.

Arvada police used DNA evidence from the exam, along with information from interviews and Delgado-Cordoba's Uber profile and social media, to pursue charges against him this month.
