Pedro hernandez's third trial set in etan patz murder case

A 65-year-old man, Pedro Hernandez, is headed to a third trial in the decades-old murder case of 6-year-old Etan Patz, who vanished on a two-block walk to school in 1979.

Hernandez, a former new york shop clerk, has been in custody since his 2012 arrest after detectives reopened the case.

A judge rejected Hernandez' lawyers' arguments Friday to dismiss the charges, citing a 2012 tip about his alleged confession to various people years earlier that he had killed a child in New York.
