Labour's archaic mindset dooms it from within

Keir Starmer's self-righteous response to Labour's third-place showing in last Thursday's Gorton and Denton byelection is a perfect encapsulation of the party's awful, contorted political instincts that will surely lead to his downfall.

Instead of congratulating the Green party's new MP Hannah Spencer and acknowledging the everyday struggles she so eloquently emphasized throughout the campaign, Starmer launched into a self-serving tirade.

He accused Spencer and the Greens of
