Fatal hit-and-run crashes in riverside county; authorities seek suspect

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Jurupa Valley early Sunday, and police are still searching for the driver who fled the scene.

Crash details

The vehicle struck the victim around 2:25 a.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Campbell Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived to find the victim's body in the road with severe injuries. They pronounced the person dead at the scene.

No identification has been released yet.

Investigation ongoing

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash, but it's unclear if alcohol or drugs played a role.
