Three Dead, Seven Wounded in Idaho In-N-Out Shooting

Twin Falls, Idaho – Authorities identified three victims killed in a shooting Saturday at an In-N-Out restaurant. The victims are 23-year-old Ashley Garibay of Stockton, California; 66-year-old Dale Schultz of Salt Lake City, Utah; and 59-year-old Christopher Claunch of Hagerman, Idaho. Seven others sustained injuries.

Suspect Dies by Suicide

The gunman, 24-year-old Chad Williams, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following the attack. Investigators have not yet determined a motive.

Victim Details

Ashley Garibay, an In-N-Out employee and part of a training team, was described by her family as an "amazing, beautiful soul" who loved her work. Dale Schultz was a retired resident of Salt Lake City. Christopher Claunch, known as "Toph" to friends, had recently completed a rehabilitation program and dedicated his life to helping others recover from alcohol abuse. Austin James, a former law enforcement officer, confronted the gunman and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Shooting Details

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene with shots fired inside and outside the restaurant. An off-duty state trooper and a civilian intervened, diverting the suspect and preventing further casualties. In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder expressed her grief over Garibay’s death, stating, "We lost one of our beautiful Associates." The In-N-Out location opened in late July as part of the chain's expansion into Idaho.
