Jay Camp, whose home has been powered by a 24-hour generator, recounted the terrifying experience. ‘I had to run back inside and make sure my kids were safe,’ he said, his voice still laced with disbelief. ‘Pushing the door closed was… unnerving, to say the least. It felt like the house itself was resisting.’ He admitted to a profound sense of shock, questioning the veracity of the storm’s intensity – the need to physically barricade the entrance.

Camp himself expressed a commitment to proactive measures, stating, ‘I mean, that’s part of the plan is to scale back some of the branches to make sure that they’re not hanging over the house.’ The scale of the devastation is prompting residents to take a preventative approach, meticulously trimming branches in a desperate attempt to mitigate future risks.
