Key topics will include measuring social impact, sustainable labor practices, and legislative changes affecting the future of employment for these individuals. The conference will feature presentations from industry experts, including David Rodríguez, CEO of the Fundación Pegasus, who will serve as master of ceremonies and discuss labor barriers and prejudices.
The Fundación VASS will examine the application of artificial intelligence in Special Employment Centers, while the Universidad Pontificia Comillas will analyze methodologies for measuring social impact through its Cátedra de Impacto Social, led by Carlos Ballesteros.
CONACEE President Albert Campabadal and ACEEM President Juan José Laguna will open and close the congress. The full program will be announced in the coming weeks, with additional debate sessions and presentations focused on the sector's future.
This event comes after the Spanish Congress of Deputies approved stricter penalties for employers failing to meet the quota for hiring people with disabilities, a reform currently pending in the Senate, which CONACEE has supported. The organization has also requested increasing this quota to 4%. Additionally, CONACEE advocates for recognizing the role of privately-run Special Employment Centers (CEE) in the Ley de Economía Social, as these centers generate over 82,000 jobs, with over 69,000 held by people with disabilities.
