Daly drive-in's 67-year run ends with summer closure

After nearly seven decades of serving up favorites to Livonia locals, the Daly Drive-In restaurant is closing its doors for good at the end of summer.

For many, the Daly Drive-In wasn't just a place to grab a quick bite - it was a gathering spot where generations of families made memories. Sydney Colburn, one regular, said she's been going there since infancy, with her late grandfather among the first to introduce her to the cozy booths in the back.

Scott Grace, the owner of this location for nearly 50 years, cited declining health and rising costs as the primary reasons for his decision to retire and sell the property to 7-Eleven. Despite efforts to find a buyer willing to keep the drive-in alive, Grace ultimately decided to end the Daly Drive-In's run.

For longtime patrons like Richard Lebeck, the Daly Drive-In represented more than just good food - it was a sense of community.
